London-based architect Oliver Morgan has become a frequent visitor and sometime resident of the Isle of Wight since he was a child. His recent conversion of the family’s holiday shack has been at the other end of the spectrum from the large-scale refurbishments his practice usually undertakes. The exterior is clad in timber reminiscent of fifties American beach house, and many of the interior walls are covered with vertical paneling, painted white to give a crisp, clean finish. “I didn’t want a house overrun with lobster pots and oars on the walls,” says Morgan.
