It was an article in the Evening Standard that led Caroline and Jonathan Zoob to their Sussex home. Caroline was leafing through it one afternoon when a headline caught her eye: ³It said something like ŒHow would you like to share your home with 7500 visitors each summer?¹ and as soon as I finished reading it I rang Jonathan and asked him the same question². The house in question was Monk¹s House near Lewes, East Sussex, once the home to that towering figure of 20th century literature, Virginia Woolf, and her husband Leonard. The National Trust own it, but were seeking new tenants who could cope not only with the twice-weekly arrival of visitors, but with a garden of nearly two acres that needed some tender loving care. writer - helenchislett@btinternet.com
