2320 - Town Mouse To Country House

In the nine years since Louise Schweitzer and her husband, Reicke, moved to a dilapidated 18th century farmhouse in Sussex, they have transformed it it into the welcoming, comfortable home it is today. Cleverly, they have also managed to make it feel as though it has always looked this way. Walls are mainly a pale sawdust colour, which blends well with natural stone and wood floors, while colours are introduced through fabrics, cushions, throws and accessories. Books are an integral part of the home, and so too are paintings - including wonderfully exuberant canvases by Louise’s artist daughter, Henrietta Graham. Writer helenchislett@btinternet.com
