2961 - Chinese Whispers

Michael MacRae, co-founder of painted furniture company, Le Pigeon Rose, has used a confident blend of east and west in the London home he shares with his partner, Paul Guerin. Paul is a paint specialist, and there are colour washes over the walls that are reminiscent of palazzos and palaces - now the same effect is available on Le Pigeon Rose furniture. It all makes for a fascinating mix, with both antique and contemporary Chinese, colonial India, French provincial and classic English also in evidence. In less skilled hands, the effect might be confusing, but here all manner of objects blend together in perfect harmony: “What is exciting about any aspect of design is taking diverse and opposite aspects and finding the common ground between them”.
