4272 - A wonderful city dwelling

37 images 1 2 3 »

Built by the architectural practice of Guzmán y Ogarrio, one of the leading practices in Mexico City, Casa Ortiz is a wonderful example of their latest designs. Situated in the affluent neighbourhood of Bosques de Santa Fé on a precipitously sloping side of a canyon, the top of the roofline is not much above the street level where the entrance is situated. Built of large blocks of stone, this heaviness is however softened by the ample use of wide windows, steel, glass and black marble, as well as the delightful garden at the front of the house and the two watery ponds…a wonderful city dwelling.
