4284 - An eclectic collection

39 images 1 2 3 »

An apartment in the leafy north London suburb of Hampstead is the setting for a young entrepreneur, who employed the architect Alan Crawford to redesign his ground floor apartment. He wanted a comfortable home for entertaining and as a repository of his eclectic collection of decorative arts and objects. An 18th century cabinet sits next to contemporary sofas and a chaise longue, and oversized chairs form a masonic lodge hall that oversees the dining area with a contemporary sculpture and glasswork nearby. A basement area was excavated and is accessed by a specially designed circular staircase leading down to what is now a home cinema, complete with original James Bond posters.
