Regularly changing her scenery is not too uncommon for art and portrait photographer and writer Elisabeth Aarhus, based in Oslo she has moved home four times in the past six years. At home in her very own urban retreat she lives with her children and artist boyfriend Morten Andenaes. After returning from the UK where she also ran an antiques shop she brought with her the whole stock and started Hudson, a small vintage boutique in Oslo. As she travels in Norway and Europe to document peoples’ homes and gardens her background in theatre not only shines through in her portraiture but also in her interiors. Perhaps this is analogous to the apartment which, as a kind of 4-room white canvas, brings with it the idea that at first glance not all is as it seems.
