Traditional Dutch coal barge, gutted by owner's son and remodelled to provide a pied de terre in the heart of London. The main coal hold of the boat is now a spacious dining and living area with kitchen, illuminated through glass panels that have been fitted it to where the coal hatches once sat. In the bow of the boat there is a well designed bedroom with bathroom, the bath specially chosen because it is faced with a overlapping wood panel, similar in construction to the clinker system used in boat hulls. The boat is moored in a deep water dock in the heart of the City of London. Writer vinnylee@btinternet.com
